The Lakers are pleased to announce that Jeff Flanagan will be speaking on both pre-practice and pre-game preparation as part of the Lakers Orientation Day activities on August 24th.

Jeff has an extensive hockey background that includes coaching at various levels...

...Professional, University and Junior. He completed last season as the Head Coach of HC Gardena of the Italian A2 league where the team made the play-off semi finals. Prior to heading to Italy, Jeff worked as the Associate coach of the University of Guelph Gryphon Men’s team. During the 2006/07 season Jeff served as the assistant coach with Reading Royals, the then ECHL Affiliate of the LA Kings. In 2005/06 Jeff worked as the Associate Coach/Assistant General Manager of the Powell River Kings of the BCHL. During the 2003/04 season, Jeff worked as the assistant coach with the professional Basingstoke Bison of the EIHL in the UK; a season in which the league saw a number of NHL players competing during the lockout.

Jeff spent two years as assistant coach for the University of Guelph’s Varsity Men’s hockey program from 2001 – 2003. He has also worked with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League and the Belleville Bulls in a scouting capacity.

Flanagan played his minor and junior hockey in Seaforth where he was a member of four All Ontario Championship teams. After Junior, Jeff played for the University of Guelph where he was a member of the 1997 Ontario and Canadian Championship winning Gryphon Hockey program.

Jeff has a B.A. in History from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, ON. He is certified to teach in Ontario and British Columbia.
