3 Game Winning Streak by the Huron Perth Lakers "AAA" Minor Bantams has kept them in 1st place of the East Division in Alliance Hockey action.
Travelling to Hamilton on Saturday, Calvin Penney from St Marys cashed in with a natural hattrick to pace the Lakers to a convincing win over the host Hamilton

Reps by scoring the first 3 goals of the game. For Penney, it was his 2nd hattrick in as many games. Jackson Martin from Listowel rounded out the Lakers scoring by banging in a loose puck to put them up 4-0. Hamilton responded late in the 3rd, ringing a shot off the post that found its way into the back of the net to snap the shutout bid by Exeters Jake Partridge making the final 4-1.
On Sunday in Brussels, the Minor Bantams played host to Kitchener. The Jr Rangers opened the scoring midway through the 2nd but the lead evaporated when Garrett Meurs from Ripley found the twine to tie the game at 1 going into the 3rd. The Lakers outplayed Kitchener for most of the final period & were finally rewarded when Stratfords Brad McClure took a centering pass & without hesitation rifled the eventual game winner into the top corner past a devastated Kitchener goaltender to give the Lakers the 2-1 win.

The Lakers have 6 games remaining in the Regular Season and have a very respectable 18-8-0 record with 102 GF & only 54 GA.
