Undefeated Streak Continues as Major Bantams Advance to Semi-Finals
The Huron-Perth Laker Major Bantam hockey team won their opening round of ALLIANCE AAA Pavilion League playoffs with 3 straight dominant wins over the Hamilton Reps. The Lakers opened the series at the Goderich MRC and earned a convincing 6-1 victory. Returning to the unfriendly confines of the Hamilton arena the following weekend, the Lakers shutdown the Hamilton team completely with a 4-0 win. The Lakers returned to their home rink the next day and wrapped up the best 3 out of 5 series with another sound game, winning 4-1.
The Lakers have put together an undefeated streak of 16 games over the last 2 months in regular season & league playoffs, winning 13 and tying 3 over this period. The team has not lost in league play since Dec 3/06.
The Lakers await the winner of the London Jr. Knights & Windsor Jr. Spitfires series as they continue their quest for the ALLIANCE AAA Pavilion League Championship.
