Minor Atoms Play 4 Good Periods out of 6 on Weekend
3 To 1 Goal Ratio In 40 Minutes Of Weekend Hockey

On Saturday the Lakers traveled to Hamilton to play the first place team in the league, the first and second period went as planned. Down by 2 lucky goals in 20 minutes was not disappointing, the Minro Atoms fixed a lot of problems from playing Hamilton earlier in the season. In the third period, Hamilton forced turn overs by taking passes away from the Lakers. The Lakers learned that in this hockey league they can not play to what it was like last year. Players are faster, better and smarter - a good learning experience for the next time against Hamilton.

On Sunday, the Lakers traveled to Waterloo and played 2 excellent first and second periods with Waterloo leading 1-0 after the second period. The Lakers did what they were told and outshot Waterloo in the 2 periods. Struggling to score in the last three games, some players got goal hungry which made our team out of position and exhausted in the third period. Waterloo capitalized on that motion of play and netted 6 more goals. Scoring the only goal was Justin Beuermann assisted by Jacob Rooke. Playing 2 very good teams was good and it only helps to learn by our mistakes.

The Minor Atoms travel to Detroit this weekend to play the USA and off to the Detroit Red Wings game the following night.
