Weekend Brings A Dose Of Reality
The Minor PeeWee Lakers were riding a 25 game undefeated streak into this past weekend and the coaching staff is hoping that the 2 losses the team suffered will bring them back to what started the streak: hard work and a commitment to team play.

On Friday night, the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs edged out the Lakers 2-1 in a fast paced affair. One goal that spectators behind the net clearly said was not in and another on a terrible line change is all that the Chiefs would need to defeat the home squad. The only goal for the Lakers would come when Chayse Herrfort would clear the puck out of the defensive zone and Brent West would jump on it and slide a nice pass to Jon Baker on a 2 on 1 effort right in front of the EMC net. The Lakers would outshoot their opponents 23-9 but it was clear that the Chiefs were beating the Lakers to 75% of the loose pucks.

On Sunday in Waterloo, the Lakers found themselves getting run over by an aggressive Waterloo Wolves forecheck  and 11 minutes into the game were losing 4-0. The Lakers would battle back with one goal when West would slide a cross crease pass to Jared Nash to make it 4-1. That would turn out to be the final score as the Lakers picked up their game somewhat in the third period.

The Lakers are still tops in the Alliance East and travel to Brantford on Tuesday at 7:30pm to play the 99ers.  Back to good habits Lakers!

Skate 365 Synthetic Ice
Located in Mt. Forest, Skate 365 is a retailer of synthetic ice. Contrary to real ice, Synthetic ice requires no cold weather, refrigeration or watering. Synthetic ice is composed of special synthetic polymers so its surface can be enjoyed year-round and in all temperatures. Skating on Synthetic ice gives the same effect and feel as real ice. Hockey players state that the effects of the puck on synthetic ice respond the same way as real ice. Imagine being able to practice skating routines or playing hockey in your own driveway in the middle of summer on regular steel edge skates! Roller blades on pavement does not offer the same sensation nor does it offer the same puck response for hockey players. There is no adapting to synthetic ice, it’s as close as you can get to real ice without freezing and what you learn in your sport will be applied the same way on real ice. Common Applications Hard surfaces like basement floors, garage floors or tennis courts are typical installation sites. Panels can also be installed on hardwood floors or asphalt / cemented parking lots and driveways.
