The Major Atoms had a solid weekend of hockey this past weekend. The Atoms had a hard fought loss on the road to the London Jr Knights but were able to take the victory over the Lambton Sting at home.
The Lakers travelled to London to faceoff against the Jr Knights Saturday afternoon. The Lakers outshot the Knights and controlled the majority of the play throughout the game but only managed to beat the strong London Jr Knights goalie once. Our guys made their presence known but came out on the short end of the stick with a 3-1 loss.
The Lakers hosted the Lambton Sting on Sunday afternoon hoping to continue their solid play from the day before. The game was filled with penalties by both teams keeping the guys on the gamesheet & clock busy. The Sting would light up the scoreboard first but it would be the Lakers who would answer with three of their own. The momentum slowed in the third period and the Sting would once again find the back of the Lakers' net.

With the score 3-2, the Lakers crisp passes and teamwork resulted in an insurance goal at the 2:23 mark. Any hope of a comeback by the visitors was dashed by the solid Lakers defensive core and the Major Atoms would hold on to the 4-2 victory.
