Major Atoms Advance to Alliance Playoff Semi-Finals
The Huron Perth Lakers Major Atoms advance to the Alliance Playoff Semi-Finals against the Hamilton Reps.

Playoff Recap:

The Major Atoms finished their regular season with 36 points and clinched second place in the Pavillion East Division. This gave the Lakers a first round bye in Alliance Playdown action.

The Huron Perth Lakers and Cambridge Hawks would meet in the quarter finals of the Pavillion Playdowns. The two teams traded victories during the first 4 games, tying the series 2-2. All victories in this series had come to the home team and the Lakers hoped to continue the trend when they travelled to Goderich for the deciding 5th game in the series. This game was a hard fought battle with the score tied after 3 periods of play. This contest would once again go to overtime but it would be the Hawks finding the back of the net first, taking the win and the series.

The Major Atoms were plagued with injuries and flu bugs during our last series but this past weekend, we had the entire team back on the ice. Strong defence, steady goaltending, great teamwork and lots of hustle from our forwards all added up to the Major Atoms taking the Playoff Quarter Final series against the Kitchener Rangers in two games straight.

The Lakers now advance to play Hamilton Reps in the Alliance Playoff semi-finals this weekend.
