Major Atoms have Up and Down Weekend
Written by Chris Holloway The Huron Perth Lakers had an up and down weekend going 1-1. On Saturday in Milverton a tired looking Lakers squad lost a tough decision to Cambridge 4-2. Camden Daigle and Patrick Holloway had a goal and an assist each and their linemate Tanner Dietz had 1 assist. Goaltender Aaron Waugh was solid keeping his team in the game until Cambridge scored 3 unanswered 3rd period goals.

On Sunday in Stratford the Lakers rebounded with a much better effort and were rewarded with a 5-0 victory over the Windsor Jr. Spitfires. Kyle Powers earned the shutout and the entire Laker defense corps was very strong limiting the Windsor offensive attack. Jackson McLlwain led the charge with 2 goals and an assist while Cole Melady and Dietzy had a goal and assist each. Daigle had the other Laker goal and Brady Ballantyne, Jack Stecho, Luke Gaylor, Logan Harmer, and Maverick Mulder earned assists. The Lakers are idle this week before competing at the Tim Hortons Invitational Tournament in Hamilton over the Thanksgiving weekend.
