Major Atoms Earn a Single Point over the Weekend
Written by Chris Holloway

The HP Lakers had an underwhelming weekend still recovering from a a long weekend at the Tim Hortons Invitational the week before.

On Saturday at Laker Day in Goderich the boys fell behind 2-0 before clawing back and earning a 2-2 tie with Cambridge. Luke Gaylor earned a goal and an assist while Sam Sedley scored a beauty goal on a nice rush. Jackson McLlwain and Brady Ballantyne also earned assists. The Lakers pressed throughout the 3rd after they finally found their legs and even hit the cross-bar in the dying seconds, but a win proved elusive on this day.

Sunday in Stratford the HP hosts lost 4-3 to Sun County. Turnovers killed the Lakers and Sun County used their size advantage on the small ice surface at the Allman. Sun County was also rewarded with a PP goal for their game winner. Camden Daigle, Tanner Dietz, and Patrick Holloway all had one goal and an assist each but it was not enough on this day. Sedley also had a PP assist for the Lakers.
