The Midget Laker prospects took to the ice in St Marys last night for their 1st of 4 Exhibition games in the next week.
With no real chemistry amongst the players & the Waterloo Wolves as their opponent, the Lakers kept the score knotted at zero after the 1st period with several good scoring chances for each team.
In the 2nd period, the Lakers ran into penalty trouble and the Wolves capitalized with 2 quick goals to take a 2-0 lead heading into the final frame.
Whether it was cautious play or just 2 balanced clubs trying to make an impression on their respective coaches, the 3rd period was filled with end to end hockey with neither team finding the twine, ending in a 2-0 loss to the Lakers.
The Lakers are back on the ice at 1pm on Saturday at the Allman in Stratford where Open Tryouts will continue. Followed by an Exhibition game vs. Kitchener. Game time is 6:30pm at the RBC in Stratford.
