Herrington gets to the Point
It look like the 1st win of the season was in hand on Saturday but a lapse in the 3rd period forced the new head coach of the NA Engineering Midgets to wait 24hrs to get the teams first points.

The Lakers opened their Regular Season on Saturday hosting the Lambton Jr Sting and controlled the majority of the game. Fatigue, penalties and a little inexperience lead to a 3rd period collapse and the Lakers let the game slip away by a final of 7-4.

Returning veteran Colin Burns takes credit for scoring the 1st Laker goal of the season with assists going to James McHugh and Liam Kelly. Evan Metelski added a goal and assist with Wyatt Lansdell and Broedy Karelse also finding the back of the net. Luke Medeiros tallied an assist. Ben Larder suffered the loss in net despite making several outstanding saves in a game that saw the Lakers outshoot Lambton 48-31.

On Sunday, the Lakers played their 2nd of the season hosting Hamilton. A productive meeting prior to the game by Coach Herrington appeared to work as Medeiros opened the scoring 90 seconds into the game and they never looked back enroute to a solid 9-6 victory.

By the final buzzer, Medeiros made his presence known with 5 goals & 1 assist. Caleb Warren demonstrated his playmaking ability with 5 assists. Metelski had another multi point game with a goal & assist. James McHugh & Liam Kelly each scored their 1st as a Laker with McHugh also adding 2 assists. Burns rounded out the goal scorers & Ryan Collison and Matt McGall found the scoresheet with assists. Adam Chiocchio grabbed the win with a 33 save performance.
