Warren to wear the 'C'
Caleb Warren was named team Captain of the Lakers NA Engineering Midget team by head coach Nathan Herrington on Wednesday night.

The Lakers alternate Captains will be decided in the near future with the exception of one- Luke Medeiros will also wear a letter for the team this season.

“I’m comfortable without a complete set of captains for right now” says Coach Herrington, “I think it’s based on when the time is right and when you have the right player ready to step up. With Caleb & Luke, their work ethic and determination will definitely inspire their teammates to work hard & succeed which makes them the perfect choices to lead our team”.

Warren has 9 points (2G-7A) through the first 5 games of the season, while Medeiros has tallied 10 points (8G-2A)

Steve McIver, Director of Midget Hockey Operations for the Lakers has nothing but complete praise and support for his Coach on the decisions. “Caleb is everything a Captain should be. He is one of our hardest working players both on and off the ice” states McIver. “Being named as a Captain is a huge deal and I think Warren & Medeiros are well-deserving. We have a great group of players on this team and they will receive a lot of support”

That hard work & desire to succeed will be on display this weekend as the team heads to Gretzky Centre in Brantford to participate in the Alliance Midget Showcase.

The Lakers 3 opponents are-

-              Friday 8:30pm vs. Windsor

-              Saturday 4pm vs. Kitchener

-              Sunday 11am vs. Cambridge
