The Lakers opened the tournament with a bang as they easily defeated Maryland by a score of 8-1. They should have recorded the shutout but a defensive face off mistake led to a Maryland goal with 1 second remaining in the game. Wyatt Nicholson got the win in net.

vs LA Hockey Club

The Lakers found themselves in a very physical game against LA but responded with some physical play of their own in the 3rd period and eventually prevailed by a score of 4-0.  Tristan Lewis got the shutout win.

vs Columbus Bluejackets

vs Florida Storm

Starting the play-off round the Lakers scored early and then took a 3-0 lead before eventually winning a hard fought  game by a score of 4-2. Lewis would make some key saves when the score was 3-2 before the Lakers would get an empty netter.

vs Valley Junior Warriors (MA)

The Lakers would take a 2-0 lead but would give up a goal late in the 2nd period  as the quick skating Warriors changed the momentum in a comeback effort.  However, Nicholson would stand tall and help solidify the 2-1 win for the Lakers.

It would turn out to be an all Alliance semi-final as the Lakers met up with the rejuvenated Panthers from Sun County.  The Lakers would take a 3-0 lead before the Panthers would respond with their only goal and the Lakers would allow very few shots on net after that winning 4-1.  Lewis would get the win in net.

Championship vs North York Rangers

The Lakers would take a commanding 5-0 lead before giving up 2 quick goals and getting pinned in their own end for a few shifts.  They would settle down after a quick time out and eventually cruise to a 5-2 win.  Nicholson would get the win in net and Chayse Herrfort would be selected as MVP.  The coaching staff agreed that the last 2 games were easily the best 2 efforts that the team put together all week-end.  Every player played a vital role, each stepping up at different times to add to the entire team effort.

Skate 365 Synthetic Ice
Located in Mt. Forest, Skate 365 is a retailer of synthetic ice. Contrary to real ice, Synthetic ice requires no cold weather, refrigeration or watering. Synthetic ice is composed of special synthetic polymers so its surface can be enjoyed year-round and in all temperatures. Skating on Synthetic ice gives the same effect and feel as real ice. Hockey players state that the effects of the puck on synthetic ice respond the same way as real ice. Imagine being able to practice skating routines or playing hockey in your own driveway in the middle of summer on regular steel edge skates! Roller blades on pavement does not offer the same sensation nor does it offer the same puck response for hockey players. There is no adapting to synthetic ice, it’s as close as you can get to real ice without freezing and what you learn in your sport will be applied the same way on real ice. Common Applications Hard surfaces like basement floors, garage floors or tennis courts are typical installation sites. Panels can also be installed on hardwood floors or asphalt / cemented parking lots and driveways.
