SWEEP WINDSOR TRIP
Written by Kory Dietz,
The much anticipated rematch in Essex this past weekend against Sun County on Saturday produced two points on the road and a positive start to the weekend, as the boys got shutout goaltending from Aaron Waugh, some timely penalty killing and a goal from Camden Daigle on a goal mouth feed from Tanner Dietz with 10:52 remaining.  This proved to be the game winner in a 1-0 win over Sun County.

The penalty kill was very effective along with some timely saves from Waugh as they killed three penalties off in the third period, including one in the last two minutes of the game playing 6 on 4. So off to the hotel to prepare for a Sunday afternoon tilt with the Windsor Spitfires where the boys started slow trailing 1-0 after the first, but responded in the second period with Dietz scoring 47 seconds in, from Maverick Mulder, Daigle. Tat seemed to spark the boys as 2:49 later Sam Sedley scored a pp goal, from Jackson McLlwain and Aiden McMann.

With 2:39 remaining in the second Brady Ballantyne scored on a goal mouth feed on the power play from McLlwain, and Luke Devries to put the boys up 3-1 heading to the third period. McLlwain closed the scoring from Sedley and Ballantyne making the final 4-1. Powers recorded the win in goal as the team came home with the weekend sweep and prepare for a tough weekend against Hamilton Saturday night at the Chedoke arena and back Sunday at 1pm for a matinee game vs league rival Waterloo Wolves at the ALLMAN arena in Stratford.
