The Lambton Jr Sting came to town and took a 2 - 0 lead midway through the second . Finally on the power play at 5:38 of the second Sheldon Pryce scored assisted by Kaden Hoggarth and Cal Ferguson to get within 1 . Then a few minutes later Blake Wideman scored to tie the game at 2 assisted by Eric Roes and Pryce.
In the 3rd still tied at 2 , Pryce would score again on the power play assisted by Ferguson and Connor Aarts to put the Lakers ahead 3 - 2 and give them the win .
Hamilton would be the Lakers next opponent which would see a great effort by the Lakers right to the final buzzer . Trailing by 1 in the first Blake Wideman would tie the game assisted by Eric Roes . As the Lakers would have several chances to score in this match they would find themselves down 3 - 1 after 2 periods of play . In the 3rd Sheldon Pryce scored to get within 1 goal assisted by Cal Ferguson and Connor Aarts . With the goalie pulled the Lakers created some great chances to tie this game up but just couldn't get that bounce they needed . Hamilton would add an empty netter with .07 seconds left and hang onto a 4 - 2 win . Still a great effort by everyone from our goalie Hardy Westman and the D on the backend as well as all the forwards upfront!
Then the Lakers would faceoff against the Brantford 99ers which would prove to be probably the best overall game by the Lakers this season .
Welcome back Zac McCann who would open the scoring with 5:55 left in the first unassisted. The Lakers were clearly dominating the game and on the power play Aly McLeod would score from the back door assisted by Sheldon Pryce and Zac McCann to put them up 2- 0. Then less than a minute later still on the power play Eric Roes scores short side assited by Blake Wideman and Cal Ferguson . The Laker Peewees would take a 3 - 0 lead into the 3rd when Payton Kerr on the doorstep would score assisted by Pryce and Mitch LaFay. The Lakers were not finished yet as Mitch LaFay out battled his man and would score the 5th Laker goal assisted by Payton Kerr and Nolan Gagnier . The team played hard for the last 8 minutes to preserve the shut out for Carter Roth who stoned the 99ers today ! again what a great team effort by everyone !
The Lakers will now compete at the International Silverstick against some of the top teams from North America!
'GOOD LUCK LAKERS'
