Lakers Fall Short against Hamilton.
On the 13th day of November the Minor Atom Lakers
traveled to Hamilton to face off against the Huskies.
The Huskies took a 1-0 lead into the second period as
they fired a ton of shots on Boersma who was up for the challenge keeping his
team in the game.
In the second it was more of the same as the Huskies
continued to press and pin the Lakers in their own end. The Huskies scored two
more in the middle frame for a 3-0 lead. The large ice service was suited for
the speedy Huskies defensive and forward group.
It was in the third that the Lakers figured out the big ice and came out flying. Jewitt scored an unassisted tally with a high hard shot and then he hit the crossbar moments later. The Lakers continued to press but the Husky defence kept them to the outside and limited their late game opportunities for a 3-1 win. Even though down by three heading to the third it was nice to see the Lakers never say die attitude and commitment to work hard every shift which will only benefit them for this coming weekend as they travel to the Windsor area to play three games in two days. Good luck this weekend Lakers!!!
