Season Opens With A Tie, Loss
The boys were up to the challenge for the season opener in Cambridge on Saturday, skating stride-for-stride with the Hawks and out-shooting them badly. Sunday afternon in Waterloo, however, was a different story.

Despite having more shots on goal, and more quality scoring opportunities, the Lakers were only able to come away with a 3-3 tie versus Cambridge.  Strong goaltending by both teams kept the score much lower than the offensive performance that was witnessed during play.   The boys put all their effort into this game and showed that they can play with any team in the league on any given night.

On Sunday, however, it seemed that they boys were unable to recover from the previous night and were mostly dominated by a faster, livelier Waterloo Wolves squad.  This, combined with the fact that the game was played on an Olympic sized ice surface, led for a fairly one-sided 8-2 defeat.

The next action for the team will come Wednesday night, for an 8:30 PM game in Brantford.
