Strong Play Continues For Laker MP's
Continuing with their strong play the Huron Perth Lakers took 4 of 6 points over the last week with a 5-2 win over Kitchener, a 2-1 loss to Brantford and a 2-1 win over Chatham Kent.

The Lakers traveled to Kitchener last Wednesday and despite doing the mid week drive played a strong game led by Brody Tenpas who posted his first "hat trick" of the year resulting in a 5-2 win.

The Lakers hosted Brantford at the Brussels arena on Saturday. Having played the first match of the year to a draw, their was much anticipation going into the game and the teams did not disappoint. End to end play and terrific intensity was the product, although the Lakers did not post their best technical execution of the year, it was still terrific hockey to watch. Unfortunately the end result was a 2-1 win for Brantford with Taylor Moir scoring the lone Lakers goal. The Lakers MP's are chewing at the bit to face their Eastern Division rivals again.

Sunday's match against the Chatham Kent Cyclones proved to be a very good hockey game, the previous match the Cyclones completely self destructed resulting in a 14-4 route. Chatham played a strong game in this match with some stellar goaltending. The Lakers outshot their opponent 35-8 but managed only two goals getting snake bitten around the net. The game was a very positive take away as it was our most consistent physical effort of the year with all players finishing their checks and playing sound hockey.

The Laker MP's are currently in 1st place in the Eastern Division of the Alliance and have a quiet couple of weeks ahead of them with tonnes of practice time to hone their craft. They will, however, be playing an exhibition game against the Grey-Bruce Highlanders on Saturday.
