U10 HPL have strong showing in Kitchener Oktoberfest Tournament
The young Lakers spent the weekend playing in the Kitchener Oktoberfest Tournament and although they didn't qualify for the final day of competition the coaches were very pleased with their efforts.  Game 1 saw them face off against the Don Mills Flyers and skate to a well earned 4-2 win.  Friday afternoon the Lakers would play the Mississauga Senators and fall short by a score of 3-0, ending the day with a record of 1 win and 1 loss.

Saturday would have the Lakers pitted against their league and division rival, the Waterloo Wolves.  The Lakers would pepper the Wolves goalie all game without anything to show for it and would go down 1-0 late in the game on a Wolves power play goal.  The boys didn't quit and went right to work eventually solving the Waterloo tender with less then two minutes left and send the game to a hard fought tie.  Saturday afternoon the boys would need get a win vs the top seeded Toronto Jr Canadiens if they wanted to play Sunday.  The game would start in Laker favor with a goal on the opening shift.  The boys would fight hard the entire game but wouldn't have enough eventually falling 3-1 to TJC.

Overall the young Lakers had a good showing in Kitchener playing some good hockey against some strong opposition.  Lots of things to work on to keep getting better but for the most part lots of positives taken away from the weekend!
