2014 Lakers take Alliance East Division title!!!
The young Lakers took to the road for the final game of their first AAA season heading to Brantford to take on the 2nd place 99ers in a game that would decide the winner of the East Division.  A tie and Huron Perth would clinch, a loss would see them sit 2 points up meaning a Brantford win on Sunday vs Waterloo would see the teams tied and it come down to goal differential to decide the regular season winner.

The boys were playing shorthanded with two players out with sickness but they would dig deep and skate to a convincing 5-2 victory to take the East by 6 points over Brantford.  The victory would cap off a very successful first season for the 2014 group.  Overall they would end the regular season with a league record of 21 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie earning them 43 points, second in the league only to the Elgin Middlesex Canucks.

Overall the young Lakers would put up 32 wins, 10 losses and 4 ties through exhibition, league and tournament play.  They picked up a Nations Cup title in Detroit and won their division at The Buffalo Cup earning one of 8 spots in the medal round out of 35 teams before the tournament was cancelled due to weather.

It's been a great season so far, the boys have come together nicely as a team enjoying each others company as much off the ice, something that has only made them stronger as a group and furthered their success on the ice.  Head coach Shawn Walker and his staff are very proud of how far the group has come and are excited to see how far they can go with the playoffs starting this weekend.

Stay tuned and Go Lakers!!!!
