Minor Peewee Lakers End Exhibition Play
The Minor Peewee Lakers have had a busy few days on the road facing the London Jr. Knights and the Sarnia Jr. Sting.  Both games ended in a tie, 1-1.

The Minor Peewee Lakers have now finished 5 exhibition games with an impressive 2-0-3 record.

On Saturday, September 10, 2011 the Minor Peewee Lakers travelled to London to face the Jr. Knights. The Knights were first to light up the scoreboard. However, less than 7 minutes later at 5:30 in the first period, Kaleb Pearson scored for the Lakers, with assists awarded to Owen Gilhula and Colton Atkins. Although the Lakers had several power play opportunities they could not capitalize. The Lakers and Knights traded scoring opportunities through the second and third periods, however the game remained tied, 1-1.

On Tuesday, September 13, 2011, the Minor Peewee Lakers had an early evening travel to Sarnia. Although having defeated the Jr. Sting earlier in the summer, the Sting came out strong. Kaleb Pearson scored for the Lakers just before the end of the first period. Owen Gilhula was awarded the assist. This ended the first period 1-0 Lakers. The Lakers played most of the second period short-handed as they found themselves in some penalty trouble. The team managed to deny the Sting any goal scoring opportunities with their incredible penalty kill skill. However, only 1:28 into the third period, the Sting were able to find the back of the Lakers' net, to tie the game 1-1. Again, despite opportunities, neither team were able to pull ahead for the win. The game remained tied 1-1.

The Lakers now travel to Milverton on Saturday at 2pm for their season home opener. This team has already shown a great deal of skill and determination for what I am sure is going to be an exciting and eventful season!
