Lakers Dominate Play over Cambridge Hawks
On Tuesday, September 27th, the Minor PeeWee Lakers travelled to Cambridge, winning their first regular season game, 5-2.

After back to back losses from the Waterloo Wolves, the Lakers came ready to play hockey on Tuesday night in Cambridge.

Despite a scoreless first period, the Lakers clearly were dominating the play and wanted the win but it was the Hawks who were first to light up the scoreboard after an unfortunate bounce. However, moments later at 7:10, Laker Colton Atkins scored, assisted by Owen Gilhula. Defenceman Cameron Hanson scored 3 minutes later, again assisted by Gilhula on a power play goal.

The Lakers maintained their momentum and scored 2 short-handed goals early in the third period.  Laker Brady Hinz was able to rob the Hawks of the puck, putting the puck over the goalie's shoulder with such purpose the puck was lodged behind the post of the net.  Still on the same power play, Evan Dowd buried the puck, assisted by Eric Rolph and Kaleb Pearson. After an unlucky bounce, the Hawks were able to add one more to the score. However Laker Kaleb Pearson solidified the win, assisted by Cameron Hanson.

Goaltender, Nate Young was strong between the pipes assisting his team to victory!

Final score 5-2 Lakers. What a fantastic game of hockey to watch!

Way to go Lakers!
